Date: December 4, 2022
We will be restoring a portion of the Western States Trail damaged by the Mosquito Fire in Eldorado Canyon on Sunday December 4th. If you are willing to help us accomplish that goal please sign up below.
If you do sign up please arrive with proper attire or you may not be allowed onto the trail. Proper trail work attire includes: a long sleeve shirt; long pants; work/hiking boots that are 6” or higher and preferably leather; and work gloves. If you have a hard hat and/safety glasses please bring them. We will have extra hard hats and safety glasses available.
Please bring a day pack for extra clothing (based on predicted weather) and food/drink, and all the food (snacks & lunch) and fluids you will need for a strenuous day hiking and working in Eldorado Canyon. Please also bring a headlamp, in case we end up working until near dusk and hike out in the dark. We will likely finish well before dark, but a headlamp is always a good backup for any long day on the trail.
The type of work we perform will be varied, so you may be addressing a range of issues related to vegetation and/or the trail tread, but it will be a great learning experience for all.
Thank you in advance for helping us get the trail restored to the point that it can re-opened for all user groups.
Logistics for this work day (meeting time & location) will be posted several days prior to the event, both here, and in a pre-work day email.
